Beqa Lagoon Resort – Cyclone Winston Update

BeqaBEQA LAGOON RESORT  –  Cyclone Winston Update

Bula Vinaka to all our industry partners and friends,

As you know, Cyclone Winston passed through Fiji this last weekend. All guests and visitors to the country are accounted for and are unharmed.

Beqa Lagoon Resort is fortunate to report that Winston did not hit our Beqa Island.  Our grounds got a bit fuffled in the wind, but all structures and boats are fine.  Check out our facebook page for daily pics and blog. We had a full house of guests arrive Saturday and are operating as normal.  Our internet and telephone service has been sporatic, but most cell phone service is working.  The flights were suspended for a few days, but have resumed service on February 22, 2016.

Many areas of the country continue to be without power or telecommunications. While many resorts in Nadi, Denarau and the Coral Coast have suffered minor damage, other areas of the country have been hit harder and we ask for your continued thoughts and prayers for the people of Fiji.  The minister of Fiji stated that tourism remains an important industry for Fiji and this setback will not curb the enthusiasm and warm hospitality that Fiji is renowned for.  For further details on how you may participate in the relief effort, please visit the tourism website at www.tourismfiji.com.
